Hello Smith School Parents/Guardians, 

Hope everyone had a great Halloween! We are on to November! We have a lot of updates and information to share in this newsletter, so please read in its entirety. 

• Fall Run / Walk-A-Thon Fundraiser – we have surpassed $11,000 and have four days until our Walk/Run-A-Thon this THURSDAY!!  REMINDER - Our school goal is $15,000 - if/when we hit that number, the students will get a SCHOOL WIDE DANCE PARTY!   • Leading Classroom - Mrs. Vitale with $1,505 raised!

  • Leading Grade is Kindergarten with $3,445 raised!

  • We are accepting donations until Friday, November 12th!

  • Details of the days event have been emailed to all families from Smith School. Please check your email.

  • We are looking for 6 volunteers for the Run/Walk-A-Thon! If you would like to volunteer, please click here to sign-up!

• Smith School Adopt-A-Family Drive

       We are happy to announce that our Smith School family has a chance to help Danvers families in need again this holiday season. As we all know, every organization has been impacted by Covid-19; the Food Pantry is no exception. They request ONLY Target gift cards as the donations for children and families in need. Each grade will be collecting for 2 kids hoping to raise $100 per grade. Every $50 we collect helps one child have a brighter holiday. If we receive more, of course we’ll donate that as well!  There are several ways to participate in this program. We want to make it as easy as possible for all of you:

  • Below is the link to sign-up to donate. You will be able to donate in $10 gift card increments.

    • Send Target gift cards, cash or check made out to Smith School PAC to school with you child. These should be in a sealed envelope labeled “Smith School Adopt-A-Family” and should have the grade, parent/guardian name, email address and child's name.
    • Email Fawn Anderson at fawn@whoadragon.com to coordinate either non-contact pickup of your donation at your home or non-contact drop-off at hers, 215 Locust St.
    • Participating in this program is optional. If you sign up to donate, all donations must be received by November 30th. Thank you for considering donating to these families.

• School Virtual Apparel Store is CLOSED!  Stay tuned for when your items will be delivered!

• Thank You to Mr. Demakes and The Wardhurst Restaurant for a great Dine-Ou/In Night last week!

IMPORTANT DATES SUMMARY:

• Run/Walk-A-Thon - THIS THURSDAY!  Check your email for details that was sent from Ms. Powers through ConnectEd!
• Next PAC Meeting - November 17th, 7pm - STEAM Lab at Smith School
• School Store for Students - November 18th (K-2nd Grade) and 19th (3rd-4th Grade).  We are going to cap the spending to $3 per child this month.
